Once you’ve found the property you want to buy, ask the agent or owner for the contract of sale and you should have your solicitor or conveyancer check the document. Your solicitor or conveyancer will explain the contract to you. He or she may recommend a change to the contract. (If you need to find a solicitor or conveyancer you could ask your acquaintances and colleagues if they can recommend someone, or refer to the Yellow Pages).
